FOSSIL CLIFFS RETURNS WITH NEW SINGLE & ERIC’S TRIP COVER

“TIME EXCEEDS LIMITATIONS” & “GIRLFRIEND” AVAILABLE TODAY

FOSSIL CLIFFS, the psych-rock solo project of Yarmouth music scene stalwart Mike D’Eon, releases two new tracks. Listen to “Time Exceeds Limitations” and “Girlfriend” HERE and buy it HERE.

The new songs mark the first new music from Fossil Cliffs in more than a decade, and set the stage for not one, but two upcoming records from the project set for release later this year: an album of originals and an album of covers.

Maneuvering at a crossroads between psychedelic garage, mathy stoner rock, and angular indie motifs, “Time Exceeds Limitations” reflects on the need to unlock a truer sense of being. The lyrics explore the concept that keeping track of time and living life on the clock only serves to make that time and that life seem shorter – progress and possibility impeded by the limitations of imposed structure.

The B-Side to the single is “Girlfriend,” a cover of the Eric’s Trip song that first appeared on the influential East Coast band’s 1994 album, Forever Again. After discovering the band in his teenage years, D’Eon retraces his steps back to an era that would come to help define his own songwriting for decades to come.

Fossil Cliffs returns to the stage later this month at the Ultramarine: Music & Arts Festival, performing at the Yarmouth Legion on Saturday, June 20 alongside The Orchids and fencing.

“Time Exceeds Limitations” and “Girlfriend” are both available to stream today, Tuesday, June 02, via Acadian Embassy.
