Halifax alt-indie outfit POSTFUN releases their brand new EP, Hunting Music. Listen HERE and buy HERE.
Hunting Music captures the restless emotional landscape of young adulthood – the push and pull between staying comfortable and chasing something bigger. Bucking conventional indie rock motifs throughout the 4-song collection, Postfun explores themes of overthinking, stagnation, risk, and the quiet hope that something better might be waiting just beyond the familiar.
The record moves through moments of self-reflection and vulnerability, from the suffocating routines of “Change Your Mind,” to the spiralling introspection of “Sharpening the Knife,” and the bittersweet longing of “Easy Goes.” The EP closes with “Something (Anything),” a collaborative single with Moira & Claire that reflects on comparison, ambition, and the experience of navigating Halifax’s music scene after growing up in the rural Maritimes.
Melding elements of indie rock, midwest emo, and folk-influenced storytelling with a distinct Maritime authenticity, the record highlights Postfun’s ability to pair raw emotional honesty with vivid local imagery. The result is a collection of songs that feel deeply personal while speaking to the universal experience of trying to find your place in the world.
In support of Hunting Music, Postfun embarks on a series of tour dates throughout the Maritimes next month. Dates are as follows:
