…ANNOUNCES DELUXE REISSUE OF 2020 LP, THE WILL TO WEATHER THE STORM, AND 20-YEAR RETROSPECTIVE ALBUM RELEASE SHOW ON APRIL 17
Halifax fog rock quartet QUIET PARADE returns with the brand new single, “Next Time We Love.“ Stream & buy it HERE.
A song about two lovers destined to find their way back to each other with a lifetime of lived experience in tow, “Next Time We Love” draws heavily on the high gloss pop-rock sheen of Nada Surf’s 2005 album The Weight Is A Gift to inform its sonic palette and the songwriting arrangements of the 1992 Gin Blossoms classic “Found Out About You” to nourish its structure. To harness this atmosphere and capture the distinct approach, the band turned to John Mullane (Future Dad) who recorded, mixed and co-produced the track.
“Next Time We Love” is the first new release from Quiet Parade in over a year, following the standalone single “Empire“ launched in March 2025. The tracks are part of a new collection of 4 songs that frontload The Will To Weather Another Storm, a deluxe reissue of the band’s LP, The Will To Weather The Storm, which was unveiled in April 2020 at the height of the pandemic.
“By the time the pandemmy kicked into high gear that spring, the wheels were already in motion for the album to be released,” explains Quiet Parade founder and frontman, Trevor Murphy. “The record was obviously launched into the ether in a cloud of uncertainty and unease, and it certainly didn’t reverberate the way we had hoped. But we are really proud of that album so we’re hoping to give it a second life.”
Alongside “Next Time We Love,” “Empire,” and the 9 tracks originally released on the 2020 LP, The Will To Weather Another Storm also features the self-produced nostalgia-laden “Ghosts In The Wind” recorded by Palmer Jamieson (Beauts) and the cinematic “Drawn To Secrets,“ recorded and produced by Gabrielle Papillon.
The collection drops on Tuesday, April 14 via Acadian Embassy and the band celebrates its arrival later that week with a special release show at The Sanctuary Arts Centre in Dartmouth, NS on Friday, April 17. More than your average album release party, the show–billed as 20 Years of Quiet Parade–is a retrospective celebration of Quiet Parade’s entire catalogue and will feature guest appearances by former members of the band. Tickets are $20 and are available HERE.
