Cyborg Slayer, the new album from pan-provincial 7-piece LES MOONTUNES, is an innovative Acadian prog-rock rendering of this digitapocalyptic saga. Blending metal, modern jazz, industrial dance, and experimental movements, the forthcoming record expertly underscores the legend. From the birth of the first cyborg to the death of the last, Cyborg Slayer is both a vivid portrait of human uprising in the face of cold, calculated brutality and an electrifying soundtrack to the harrowing narrative.
The album’s lead single, “Digital Sunrise,” details the birth of the first cyborg. Evoking Dr. Frankenstein-esque imagery – “a lab in the middle of the city / his jacket full of blood / sweat drips from his forehead / his hand shakes (TR)” – the track captures sounds of anxious hope and mystery. Groovy, prog-inflected riffs, touches of doom metal, and an epic horn finale score the eerie genesis of a being that “gets up from his metal bed / walks through the smoke / detaches his battery / and heads towards its new life (TR).” Listen HERE & watch the video HERE or below.
The unveiling of this new single and video also serves to officially announce the signing of Les Moontunes to Acadian Embassy. The forthcoming record, Cyborg Slayer – the first Moontunes album in French – is set for release on vinyl, CD and digital platforms via the label on Friday, November 06, 2026.
