Trevor Murphy
Owner/Operator
Acadian Embassy’s primary ambassador, Trevor Murphy, comes to the table with a wealth of experience and versatility. After nearly a decade of studying at the University of King’s College and Saint Mary’s University, Trevor dove headfirst into the communications sector in 2009 becoming a full-time music, entertainment, and event publicist. He has helmed national campaigns for artists such as Jah’Mila, Matt Mays, Aquakultre, By Divine Right, and Gabrielle Papillon, record labels such as LHM Records, Forward Music Group, and You’ve Changed Records, events such as the Congrès mondial acadien 2024, the East Coast Music Awards: Festival & Conference, and Sappyfest, and clients such as This Hour Has 22 Minutes, Choir! Choir! Choir!, Mary Walsh, and Side Door.
An active force in Nova Scotia’s culture sector, Trevor has garnered a reputation as a visionary leader and trusted advocate through his work as the current President of the Fédération culturelle acadienne de la Nouvelle-Écosse (FéCANE), the current 2nd Vice-President of Music Nova Scotia’s Board of Directors, and the former Chair of the Creative Nova Scotia Leadership Council (CNSLC) – a legislated arts advocacy body that reports directly to the Minister of Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage.
Melding key aspects gleaned from his professional experience – relationship building, compelling writing, speaking engagements, strategy development and implementation – with decades of experience in the music sector as an artist, manager, label head, grant writer, and promoter, Trevor Murphy has developed an expansive tool kit that is adaptable to any project.
Trevor is also a proud Acadian and a staunch advocate for using music and art as a means to explore and express Nova Scotia’s contemporary Acadian identity. In June 2024, Trevor was awarded the Lieutenant Governor’s Award of Excellence for l’Acadie and Francophonie of Nova Scotia – a recognition of the work he has undertaken to foster the development of Acadian artists throughout the province.
