FOSSIL CLIFFS<\/b>, the psych-rock solo project of Yarmouth music scene stalwart <\/span>Mike D\u2019Eon<\/b>, releases two new tracks. Listen to <\/span>\u201cTime Exceeds Limitations\u201d<\/b> and <\/span>\u201cGirlfriend\u201d HERE <\/a><\/b>and buy it HERE<\/a>.<\/b><\/p>\n

The new songs mark the first new music from Fossil Cliffs in more than a decade, and set the stage for not one, but two upcoming records from the project set for release later this year: an album of originals and an album of covers.<\/span><\/p>\n

Maneuvering at a crossroads between psychedelic garage, mathy stoner rock, and angular indie motifs, \u201cTime Exceeds Limitations\u201d reflects on the need to unlock a truer sense of being. The lyrics explore the concept that keeping track of time and living life on the clock only serves to make that time and that life seem shorter \u2013 progress and possibility impeded by the limitations of imposed structure.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The B-Side to the single is \u201cGirlfriend,\u201d a cover of the <\/span>Eric\u2019s Trip<\/b> song that first appeared on the influential East Coast band\u2019s 1994 album, <\/span>Forever Again<\/i><\/b>. After discovering the band in his teenage years, D\u2019Eon retraces his steps back to an era that would come to help define his own songwriting for decades to come.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fossil Cliffs returns to the stage later this month at the <\/span>Ultramarine: Music & Arts Festival<\/b>, performing at the Yarmouth Legion on <\/span>Saturday, June 20<\/span><\/span> alongside <\/span>The Orchids<\/b> and <\/span>fencing<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n
