NEW TRACK FROM THE PEANUT BUTTER SUNDAY FRONTMAN AVAILABLE TODAY VIA ACADIAN EMBASSY<\/em><\/strong><\/p>

MICHAEL SAULNIER<\/strong>, frontman of the acclaimed high-energy Acadian punk band\u00a0Peanut Butter Sunday<\/strong>\u00a0(PBS), returns to his lo-fi folk roots and releases the brand new single,\u00a0“Big Karma<\/a><\/strong>.”\u00a0<\/strong>Listen\u00a0HERE<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>

“Big Karma”\u00a0explores the all-encompassing nature of habits and assumptions that feel inevitable when we don\u2019t slow down long enough to truly examine them. Mirroring this vicious cycle, the song\u2019s lyrics also repeat themselves, revealing the joke and exposing karma as something bigger, quieter, and harder to opt out of.<\/p>

The new single calls back to Michael Saulnier\u2019s pre-PBS solo catalogue \u2013\u00a0Smuggler\u2019s Cove Tape<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0(2019),\u00a0Moosehorn Lake Tape<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0(2019),\u00a0“Clare”<\/strong>\u00a0(2020) \u2013 finding him once again delivering unvarnished and intimate reflections. Channeling the influence of\u00a0Shakey Graves<\/strong>,\u00a0Nick Drake<\/strong>,\u00a0Adrianne Lenker<\/strong>, and early\u00a0Elliot Smith<\/strong>, the Baie Sainte-Marie-born songwriter revels in the raw, DIY approach to create songs that feel seemingly captured in the moment. Like field recordings of an artist thinking out loud, Saulnier\u2019s songs are calm but alert.<\/p>

Though his music circles many themes \u2013 personal spiritual journeys, restlessness and routine, love that almost works, the pull of the woods, and the strange comfort of familiar places \u2013 the songs are introspective and contemplative, yet worldly enough for any listener to find their own footing.<\/p>

“Big Karma”\u00a0is the first new solo single from Michael Saulnier to be released by Acadian Embassy and it sets the stage for a full album to come later this year.\u00a0<\/p><\/div>
