Celebrated Acadian trio\u00a0Les Hay Babies<\/strong>\u00a0unveil\u00a0Acadian Embassy’<\/strong>s\u00a0Trevor Murphy<\/strong>\u00a0as their\u00a0Atlantic Ambassador<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In this role, Murphy will act as a regional representative for Les Hay Babies across the Atlantic provinces, strengthening connections between festivals, presenters, and organizations in\u00a0Acadie<\/em>\u00a0and the band\u2019s existing team.<\/p>\n

Based in Nova Scotia, Trevor Murphy is the founder of Acadian Embassy, a music company through which he occupies multiple roles: artist manager (Maude Sonier<\/strong>,\u00a0Peanut Butter Sunday<\/strong>), directory of strategy\u00a0for the label and its\u00a0acts (Serena Wu<\/strong>,\u00a0Cheval<\/strong>,\u00a0XIA-3,<\/strong>\u00a0etc.), award-winning publicist, and more. Murphy is also an artist himself, notably with the projects\u00a0Sluice<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Quiet Parade<\/strong>, and holds key leadership roles in the music sector, including as president of\u00a0F\u00e9CANE<\/strong>\u00a0and executive board member of\u00a0Music Nova Scotia<\/strong>. His\u00a0wealth of experience\u00a0and strong connections in the music scene make him a natural ally for Les Hay Babies all while emphasizing the ambassador title suggested by the name of his company.<\/p>\n

“Les Hay Babies were one of the first Acadian groups that made me realize that making music in French wasn\u2019t just possible, but something I wanted\u00a0and was able to do,”\u00a0says Trevor Murphy. “It is is no small part\u00a0thanks to their first album,\u00a0Mon homesick heart<\/em>, that I found my own way of expressing myself as an Acadian artist and developed the ability to support other Atlantic artists through Acadian Embassy. Taking on this role is a real full circle moment for me, and it is a tremendous\u00a0honour to collaborate with a band I\u2019ve admired for so long.”<\/p>\n

Les Hay Babies share their enthusiasm and confidence in Trevor: “We\u2019ve seen Trevor carve his path for several years now. Watching him work, you can tell he\u2019s a true believer in the Maritimes cultural scene: he shows up at events, at live shows, he talks about it and he shares it. We can\u2019t wait to collaborate with him! We\u2019re really happy to join the Acadian Embassy family. ABOUT LES HAY BABIES<\/u><\/strong>

Les Hay Babies<\/strong>\u00a0are friends first: fun comes before work and work is done while having fun. New Brunswick-born Acadians\u00a0Julie Aub\u00e9<\/strong>,\u00a0Katrine No\u00ebl<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Vivianne Roy<\/strong>\u00a0have been bringing forth their sparkling, multifaceted folk-rock for over a decade, renewing their musical approach\u00a0with each new release. Arriving on the scene with\u00a0their 2012 indie-folk\/country EP\u00a0Folio<\/strong><\/em>, they returned two years later with\u00a0Mon homesick heart<\/em><\/strong>, a debut album rife with contemporary folk-rock sounds. The 60s\/70s rock and 80s ballads of\u00a0La 4i\u00e8me dimension (version longue)\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>followed in 2016, then the 70s pop\/disco of\u00a0Bo\u00eete aux lettres<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0in 2020. A fourth album,\u00a0Tintamarre<\/strong><\/em>, inspired by the roots rock of Louisiana jukeboxes, was released in October 2024. This\u00a0keen desire to keep changing musical directions has\u00a0become just as much a hallmark of the group as their unwavering enthusiasm and their interest in exploring\u00a0genres of days past.
