Stream it\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lnk.to\/cheval-tronne\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>HERE<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0or by clicking the artwork above.<br \/><br \/>\u201cTronne\u201d was created in part by using samples of traditional French songs recorded by\u00a0<strong>D\u00e9sir\u00e9 d\u2019Eon<\/strong>, journalist, writer, researcher, and founder of\u00a0<em><strong>Le Petit Courrier<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0\u2013 Nova Scotia\u2019s only French-language newspaper. Uncovered by Cheval (aka\u00a0<strong>AA Wallace<\/strong>) from archives housed at the<strong>\u00a0Mus\u00e9e des Acadiens de Pubnico et centre de recherche<\/strong>\u00a0in West Pubnico, NS, these recordings stemmed from one of D\u00e9sir\u00e9\u2019s longstanding projects where he would visit houses in historic Acadian villages to collect field recordings of traditional stories, sayings, words, and songs from elders in the community. These samples are believed to be recordings of d\u2019Eon himself reproducing some of these songs &#8211; notably a children\u2019s hymn called \u00ab\u00a0<strong>J\u2019ai r\u00eav\u00e9 cette nuit<\/strong>\u00a0\u00bb.<br \/><br \/>Using this historical audio as the refrain, the verses are delivered by Cheval in authentic\u00a0<em>acajonne<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 the longstanding dialect of Acadians from Southwestern Nova Scotia \u2013 and centered around \u201ctronne,\u201d an Acadian word meaning \u201cnoise\u201d that emphasizes the \u2018onne\u2019 sound typically found in these Acadian regions, which are amongst the oldest in the world. (<em>Main = monne, rien = rionne, etc<\/em>.)<br \/><br \/>Cheval\u2019s unique combination of these manipulated traditional songs, contemporary rock n\u2019 roll with nods to the past, and an unwavering commitment to a hyper-regional dialect positions \u201cTronne\u201d as an innovative new track from the Wedgeport-born songwriter and helps to illustrate the historic significance of the Acadian Par-en-Bas region and a culture that has endured in this place for more than 400 years.\u00a0<br \/><br \/>\u201cTronne\u201d is available today,\u00a0<u>Monday, November
