On the eve of the Lunar New Year, XIA-3<\/strong> – an instrumental trio that melds raw, atmsopheric post-rock and the haunting beauty of classical Chinese melodies – celebrates the release of their new single, “Leaves Left Behind<\/strong><\/a>.” Listen HERE<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A follow-up to towering single “Another Day<\/a><\/strong>,” “Leaves Left Behind” welcomes the Year of the Snake with a poignant reflection on memory and change by weaving delicate tones of the guzheng, a traditional Chinese zither, with driving basslines and an ethereal drum groove. Inspired by the fleeting beauty of autumn, the track captures the bittersweet essence of letting go while celebrating the stories and emotions that remain rooted within us.<\/p>\n

Borne of Jing Xia’s dream of blending her Chinese heritage with contemporary genres, XIA-3 embodies a dynamic and unexpected fusion of cultures and sounds.<\/p>\n

The new single also officially signals the forthcoming arrival of XIA-3’s debut album, Interworlds<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, which arrives on Friday, February 28<\/span> via LHM Records<\/strong> & Acadian Embassy<\/strong>. Named one of CBC Music’s 22 Canadian Albums We Can’t Wait To Hear in 2025<\/strong><\/a>, the trio\u2019s first full length, is “both playful and introspective” as award-winning virtuoso Jing Xia’s “deft melodies build enchanting stories alongside the atmospheric playing of her bandmates\u201d Ritche Perez and Brian Downton.<\/p>\n

Kindred spirits eager to defy convention, XIA-3 reimagines ancient musical traditions to create electrifying East-meets-West soundscapes that seamlessly weave world music, metal, jazz, prog, experimental rock, and more. Over the span of the eight eclectic compositions on Interworlds, the groundbreaking act delivers an expansive sonic journey that emerges from this compelling fusion of cultures and sounds.<\/p>\n

Ahead of the album’s release, XIA-3 performs at Le Phoque OFF<\/strong> in Qu\u00e9bec City, QC next month as part of an Acadian Embassy showcase.
