When you think of retro music, chances are your mind flashes back to the 60s, 70s, and 80s. But for a whole generation, the music of the 1990s is quickly becoming a relic of a bygone era. That 90s Night capitalizes on this wave of new-nostalgia to create one of the most in-demand dance parties in Atlantic Canada.
Focusing on playing the hits as they were meant to be remembered, the That 90s Night repertoire spans a variety of genres. Pop, dance, R&B, hip-hop, and the occasional alternative cut all meld together for a carefully curated, high-energy, fist-pumping party that calls back to the time of discmans, TGIF TV shows, and neon snap bracelets.
Wearing an unabashed love for the decade on their sleeves, Young Hearts – the duo on the decks – prides themselves on being primetime party engineers. No remixes, no mashups, no funny business. The philosophy has served them well over the last six years and has ensured their monthly event at The Seahorse Tavern is a consistently sold-out affair.
